Chihuahua Puppy
A Chihuahua puppy is a teeny tiny dog that when mature will typically weigh no more than six pounds although some breeders have been known to breed Chihuahua dogs who weigh much more. Because of their "teacup" like size, some owners have given the Chihuahua dogs the nickname of Teacup Chihuahua. According to the American Kennel Club (AKC) standard, the general appearance of the Chihuahua is "graceful, alert, swift-moving little dog with a saucy expression, compact, and with terrier-like qualities of temperament."
Chihuahua is a member of the AKC Toy Breed Group. Chihuahuas should weigh no more than six pounds and they come in two varieties: long and smooth coat. The way a Chihuahua reacts around other pets however, may be due to their individual personality, and his or her temperament.
The Chihuahua may not be appropriate for a family with very young children if the kids tend to be rough with pets. Sometimes, the dog will become intolerable of undisciplined toddlers. However, Chihuahuas make excellent house pets for single people, seniors and most anybody else. These dogs crave attention and never ending love.
Although a little guy, at less than six pounds, the Chihuahua has a terrier-like (alert, observant, and keen on interacting with their masters) personality. The Chihuahua dog is unaware of his small stature. They can be bold with other dogs much larger than themselves, and protective of their masters.
